Kate Vance Leads By Example

by Rachel Pfeiffer – Fastpitch Network

When asked to describe middle infielder Kate Vance, AZ Storm Coach Corey Mathis used words and phrases like “hardworking” and “great teammate”. However, he also came back time and again to the threat she poses on the field.

“She’ll hit plenty of home runs during the year and come up big in situations. You want the bat in her hand when the game is on the line,” Mathis said. “She’s an absolute threat.”

Vance considers her power and on base percentage to be a couple of strengths offensively. Last season, she posted a .438 on base percentage and .661 slugging percentage. However, when she steps to the plate in big situations, stats aren’t on her mind.

Sky is the Limit for Arizona Storm’s Dellamonica

Alexis Dellamonica - Arizona Storm - 2023

by Tracy Yoder – Fastpitch Network

Dominating the 3rd base line for Arizona Storm 16U – Mathis, stands a fearless competitor, Alexis Dellamonica. With amazing raw athleticism and natural talent, Dellamonica is described as “one of the most gifted athletes” Steve Appel has ever coached.

Competing with the Arizona Storm since 10U, Dellamonica represents a 5 Tool Player who excels in speed, power, hitting, fielding, and arm strength. Not only does Dellamonica possess the essential skills for on-field success, she offers so much versatility to her team.

Dellamonica is currently ranked as the No. 16 utility player and No. 39 overall in the 2023 class, according to Fastpitch Network. While she is a stand-out 3rd baseman, Dellamonica is extremely versatile in the field with the ability to play middle infield or could be a dynamite center fielder, according to Appel.

by Kyle Parmely – Fastpitch Network

It takes talent to be a top-notch player.

But it takes more than talent to be considered among the best. The mental side is just as important as the physical one, and Kaitlyn Terry is the embodiment of that.

Terry is a powerful left-handed pitcher from the Class of 2023, ranked No. 24 overall and as the 14th pitcher by the Fastpitch Network. She’s got all the skills, but those aren’t what distinguish her.

It’s long been obvious to those that know her that Sierra Daniel has the potential to be an elite player.

A year ago, she already possessed every skill needed to be great. Then, she made a change in her game that has taken everything to the next level.

“Last year, we spent the year not slapping a lot, to make her a more complete player and develop her power,” said Steve Appel, Daniel’s coach with the Arizona Storm.
